About the event
Setting moveable type was one of the most revolutionary innovations of all time, making the book-making process and the dissemination of knowledge much more accessible. In this in-person workshop, students will work with wood or lead type to create their own unique messages, whether they be sayings, quotes, lyrics, or anything else!
Students should come with a quote, lyric, line of a poem, or a sentence (between 5-10 words or so) in mind to work with.
We'll browse our extensive selection of types and fonts and use some simple practices to ensure your success in crafting your message.
No experience is necessary.
Bonus: you'll get much better at reading backwards!
